Cape May Brewing Lager

Brewery: Cape May Brewing Co.  |  Location: Cape May, NJ
Style: American Light Lager  |  ABV: 4.7%  |  Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Cape May Brewing earned a spot on Craft Beer & Brewing’s Best 20 Beers of 2025 list, and this lager is a prime example of why the craft lager renaissance is real and here to stay.

Appearance

Pale straw gold, brilliantly clear, with a cap of persistent white foam that leaves pretty lace down the glass.

Aroma

Subtle but inviting — cornflakes, light citrus zest, and a clean, fresh grain character. Think of a summer morning in a glass.

Taste

Crisp and clean upfront, with just a touch more body than your average light lager. A gentle lime-rice note plays across the palate, along with the lightest whisper of floral hops. The finish is dry, clean, and refreshing.

Mouthfeel

Light-bodied and well-carbonated — highly sessionable.

Bottom Line

This is the beer that makes you understand why so many craft drinkers are rediscovering lagers. Cape May’s version is masterfully clean and satisfying. Highly recommended for the “I don’t usually like craft beer” crowd.
