Bell's Two Hearted Ale

There’s a reason Bell’s Two Hearted Ale dethroned Pliny the Elder as America’s best beer and held the crown for years. It didn’t do it with flash or gimmicks. It did it by being absolutely, relentlessly, perfectly itself every single time.Named after the Upper Peninsula river that inspired Hemingway, Two Hearted is a classic American IPA built almost entirely on Centennial hops. That single-hop approach sounds simple until you taste it — then it sounds like genius. Big grapefruit and pine on the nose, enough to make you lean in and take another sniff before you even sip.The pour is a gorgeous hazy amber with a white head that sticks around like it has nowhere else to be. The taste delivers exactly what the aroma promises: citrus forward, resinous, with just enough malt backbone to keep things grounded. At 7% ABV it’s sessionable enough that you’ll convince yourself one more is a fine idea. This is a beer that doesn’t need to announce itself. It just shows up, does its job flawlessly, and leaves you wondering why you ever drink anything else. The Verdict: The most dependable beer in America. Keep a case in the fridge at all times.
