There’s an increasing amount of interest in the proposed federal “Small BREW Act” which would restructure how beer production is taxed. You can read some of the details here.

Some breweries have come out in opposition to the change, arguing that it grants a competitive edge to larger breweries (between 2 million and 6 million barrels total production).

But smaller local and regional breweries that do most of their business near or below 60,000 barrels might welcome a bit of tax reduction on their brews.
